Selective focus on the word 'communication'.

Who we are

Michif Media is a women-owned, Indigenous-led public relations and strategic communications agency built on the foundation of strong relationships, deep experience, and the power of storytelling. We work with governments, media, and organizations to shift narratives, strengthen reputations, and create connections that matter.

In 2023, we began our rebrand from Keen Media into Michif Media, reflecting a 25-year transformation that reflects our growth, our sharpened focus, and our unwavering commitment to the communities and clients we serve.

Alongside this evolution, in 2024 we established the Indigenous Communications & Media Institute (ICMI) under the umbrella of Reciprocity Matters, a space dedicated to advancing thought leadership, advocacy, and the bigger conversations that drive change specifically for Indigenous Peoples and Nations.

We are always working: not just for today, but for the future. Our clients mean everything to us. The work we do is built on real-world expertise, lived experience, and a relentless drive to make an impact.

Whether it’s communications strategy, media relations, crisis and reputation management, or live and virtual event production, we bring our full skillset, creativity, and dedication to every project. Each area of our work is informed by strength, skill, and experience—and we never stop learning, growing, or pushing forward.

Our team

Previously, Keen Media was a network of dozens of independent professionals, collaborating across projects. Now, Michif Media is intentionally working to build a strong work family, rooted in Indigenous ways of thinking, knowing, and doing.

We are actively partnering with and hiring media and communications professionals, graphic designers, Indigenous writers and Knowledge Holders to ensure our work is informed by expertise, creativity, and cultural integrity. This shift strengthens our ability to support clients with dynamic, high-impact storytelling and strategic communications while creating meaningful opportunities for Indigenous professionals to lead in this space.

Our work is strengthened by the inclusion of Indigenous knowledge holders and advisors on all of our projects, ensuring that the stories we help shape are guided by cultural integrity, relational accountability, and a deep understanding of the communities we serve.

As we expand, we remain committed to mentorship, capacity-building, and fostering a team that shares our commitment to excellence, impact, and the power of authentic storytelling.

We are always working with the future of our communities and Peoples in mind. Metis have always been the “in-betweeners” between First Nation, Metis and Settler communities. All of our clients are important to us. The work we do is built on real-world expertise, lived experience, and a relentless drive to make an impact. Whether it’s communications strategy, media relations, crisis and reputation management, or live and virtual event production, we bring our full skillset, creativity, and dedication to every project. Each area of our work is informed by strength, skill, and experience. Aand we never stop learning, growing, or pushing forward.
